The Coalition Theater's 2nd Best Comedy Fest rages on Friday, presenting acts from NYC, Philly, Chicago, DC, and RVA.
Playing in the 7pm block at the Coalition Theater are Jim & Melissa, Blue Collard Greens and Coalition Sketch.
JIM & MELISSA (NYC)
Birthed in Chicago, but LIVING in New York, queer duo Jim & Melissa are the Kool-Aid and cyanide of sketch comedy, colorful and culty. Sketches, songs, dances, ass-eating beanbag chairs, sexy vampires and poppers all presented in the universal intergalactic simulation we call life. BLUE COLLARD GREENS (Richmond, VA) Strap on your laugh bibs and get ready to wiggle for Richmond's latest and greatest locally sourced sketch comedy group! The Greens were founded with the goal of creating fresh, original, and possibly over-produced sketch comedy to the good and usually inebriated people of Richmond.They have distinguished themselves by entertaining packed houses with their raunchy and absurd Working Class Humor. 2nd Best Fest won't know what hit 'em, until after the show, when they'll probably realize what hit 'em, as they were just hit by it. - No Blackout Transitions - No Holds Barred - No Pandering to The Bourgeoisie Will you be the one to catch the Collard Greens Bouquet? This show is presented as part of the 5th Annual 2nd Best Comedy Fest, produced by the Coalition Theater. Between June 6-8th, 2nd Best brings a lineup of 100+ comedians from all over the country presenting improv, sketch, stand-up, & alternative comedy and podcasts to downtown RVA.
The Coalition is a nonprofit theater in Richmond's Arts District with the mission of making comedy shows & training accessible to all. Proceeds from 2nd Best Comedy Fest benefit the Coalition's mission.
