The Coalition Theater's 2nd Best Comedy Fest kicks off Thursday with a lineup of shows spotlighting RVA comedy acts.
Performing in the 10pm block at the Coalition Theater is Couples' Therapy and the Almost Nothing Podcast.
COUPLES THERAPY (Richmond, VA)
Therapy is expensive, comedy isn’t. Moe Singleton and Rebecca Hyman are working through their problems in Couples’ Therapy, an interactive comedy show where they discuss their fights with an audience who decides who’s right. And yes, we are keeping score.
Moe & Rebecca are very much in love. Moe is a comedian who you have seen at the Richmond Funny Bone, DC Drafthouse, and the Broadway Comedy Club in New York. He runs comedy rooms around Richmond every Wednesday at Nuevo and every Sunday at the Hofgarden. Rebecca is a comedian, actor, and Richmond native known for her unique storytelling and musical style. She’s performed in New York, DC, and all over Virginia. You can see her perform locally at places like Penny Lane, the Hofgarden & Sticky Rice.
ALMOST NOTHING (Richmond, VA)
She's 31, unmarried and childless, and her mom is very upset about it. Most of Kimberly's crushes turn into friends she'd love to set you up with, and most of her partners turn into people she never speaks to... so, where's the disconnect? Listen to her try to figure it out by talking to her crushes about what happened, what didn't, and... what could. Looking for advice from someone who has been telling her friends how to live their lives for years? Then you'll want to stick around for when she let's the audience take the mic. This show is presented as part of the 5th Annual 2nd Best Comedy Fest, produced by the Coalition Theater. Between June 6-8th, 2nd Best brings a lineup of 100+ comedians from all over the country presenting improv, sketch, stand-up, & alternative comedy and podcasts to downtown RVA.
The Coalition is a nonprofit theater in Richmond's Arts District with the mission of making comedy shows & training accessible to all. Proceeds from 2nd Best Comedy Fest benefit the Coalition's mission.
