Each month we welcome a new Richmond-area citizen as our featured guest. The guests share true stories from their lives, which the cast use as inspiration to create a hilarious comedy show right before your eyes!

More About Hamilton Glass:
Hamilton Glass is a painter and public artist living in Richmond, Virginia. You have likely seen his large, colorful murals brightening up walls across town. Glass’s extensive portfolio includes decorative paintings for schools, local businesses, and non-profit organizations. His work centers in Richmond, but you can also find his projects elsewhere in Virginia, as well as in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Glass is driven by an aspiration to use public art to build up communities and create spaces in which the community members feel they have a stake in their surroundings. To that end, he is a frequent collaborator with organizations that focus on community growth and outreach. In 2020, he created the groundbreaking public art project Mending Walls RVA. The project paired together 30 artists from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and perspectives to have conversations about their lived experiences and to create 16 murals across the city with the hope that their art would ultimately spark deeper conversations, foster empathy, and promote healing.
Recently, he collaborated with fellow artist Germany Ray to paint a mural honoring the Richmond 34, a group of Virginia Union University students who staged a sit-in at the Thalheimers Department Store lunch counter in 1960 to protest segregation. The mural was commissioned by the Richmond Performing Arts Alliance (RPAA) and sits within the lobby of RPAA’s Genworth BrightLights Education Center located in Dominion Energy Center.
For his work, Glass has received extensive (well-deserved, we might add!) acclaim. He has been granted the Humanitarian Award by the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, recognized as a “Richmond History Maker” by the Valentine Museum, and included as one of Style Weekly’s Top 40 Under 40, among other honors.
